Nationalism, Migration, and Violence in the Middle East (History 229)
Professor Daniel Stolz

Explores the relationship between nationalist movements, violence, and migration in the transition from empire to nation-states in the Middle East and neighboring regions. Topics include the Armenian genocide, the expulsion and resettlement of Muslim populations from the Balkans and Central Asia, the Greek-Turkish population exchange, Zionism and Palestinian nationalism before 1948, and diasporic communities.
