Nalan Erbil and Emre Bozer Represent the Turkish Language and Culture at Languages of the World Day on March 5, 2025.
Nalan Erbil, a Turkish Language Instructor at GNS+ and a member of the Karpat Center Turkish Studies Committee, and Emre Bozer, a Turkish Language Teaching Assistant partially funded by the Karpat Center, both participated in the Languages of the World Day event, hosted by the UW Language Institute. They represented the Turkish language during Session 1 with their presentation titled “From Grounds to Fortune: The Art of Turkish Coffee.”
Exemplifying the Wisconsin Idea, Languages of the World Day is a signature pre-college outreach program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison designed to introduce Wisconsin high school students to diverse languages and cultures. The program raises awareness of the region’s and the world’s rich linguistic diversity, highlights the interconnectedness of language and culture, and showcases the transformative potential of language learning.
